The successful candidate will work as part of the Financial Intermediaries Desk team and focus on providing operational and procedural excellence to our Financial Intermediaries clients with a solid reporting line to the Head of Financial Intermediaries Belgium. 

Key Accountabilities

 

General/ Day-to-day 

  • Maintain and develop relationship with clients by providing operational and procedural excellence and being a trusted partner for the daily business; increase SoW with assigned clients by providing this excellent service 
  • Jointly with team members and other internal stakeholders ensure timely and quality processes and solutions for Financial Intermediaries and its end clients (e.g. for initial Due Diligence, x-border issues)  
  • Leverage services and solutions of the entire group and pro-actively leverage Asset Service and multi-shoring services  
  • Maintain and expand internal and external network to further develop business 
  • End client level 
  • Bear full responsibility for the proper and timely execution of the daily business within the portfolio of end clients 

 

FIM level 

  • Being the first point of entry for the client’s operational requests and general enquiries 
  • Pro-actively communicate potential additional client needs/ solutions identified during daily business to BD and jointly seek for the best solution for the client 
  • Drive account opening process (documentation, system coding etc.) and deliver excellent client experience; ask client for feedback regularly 
  • Maintain and develop trusted and sustainable relationship with the client  
  • Supervise onboarding of new Financial Intermediaries employees and system codification for the client 

 

Risk 

  • Know all relevant regulations, policies and guidelines and adhere to them when carrying out the daily business and client instructions; being responsible for a proper risk management of assigned FIMs and its end clients 
  • Ensure operational excellence and risk standards, and contribute to effective risk culture; meet all deadlines 
  • Execute periodic Due Diligence in collaboration with responsible team members in an accurate and timely manner 
  • Pro-actively flag potential risks that have been identified 
  • Maximize FIM retention where clients at risk 

 

People 

  • Actively collaborate with team members and share information and best practice on a regular base 
  • Foster relationship with other areas within the group with focus on Stakeholders also servicing Financial Intermediaries (e.g. GPS, Risk, Compliance, Financial Intermediaries & Asset Servicing colleagues)

Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Thorough knowledge and experience of the External Asset Managers (Financial Intermediaries) business and requirements and Financial Industry 
  • Min. 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in a Financial Intermediaries environment 
  • Bachelor or Master University degree, preferably in Finance/Business Administration or similar

  • Persistent and reliable, willing to take on ownership and responsibilities 
     

Technical Skills

 

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office 
  • Relevant Certificates in case required 
     

Languages Skills

 

 

  • Fluent in English and local language (working knowledge of the 2nd local language) 
  • Working knowledge of other relevant languages as an advantage
