We are seeking a visionary Data Governance Specialist to join our newly created Group Data & Analytics Office. In this pivotal role, you will be at the heart of ensuring our data assets are secure, compliant, and of highest quality. You will contribute to the development and execution of cutting-edge data governance frameworks and strategies, leveraging your expertise in Collibra, BCBS 239 and other important topics. Location: Luxembourg preferred, however open to other Group locations

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Data Governance: Formulate and implement advanced data governance policies, procedures, and standards that align with industry best practices, BCBS 239, and other regulatory mandates. 
  • Collibra Leadership: Oversee the deployment and management of Collibra, optimizing workflows, data dictionaries, business glossaries and data quality processes to enhance data lineage, metadata management, and quality monitoring. 
  • Data Quality:  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address data quality issues and drive continuous improvement by enforcing standards that ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all platforms. 
  • Collaborative Partnership: Engage with cross-functional teams to define data governance roles and responsibilities, fostering a culture of data stewardship and accountability across the organization. 
  • Risk Mitigation: Conduct thorough data governance assessments to identify improvement areas and mitigate data management risks. 
  • Educational Advocate: Act as a data governance evangelist, delivering impactful training sessions and supporting stakeholders in understanding and adopting data governance practices. 
  • Project Oversight: Manage and deliver comprehensive data quality, governance, and literacy programs and projects, providing expert guidance and support to various business units. 
  • Compliance Enforcer: Ensure all data governance practices comply with relevant regulations and proactively address data-related risks. 
  • Trend Watcher: Stay ahead of the curve by keeping up with the latest trends and developments in data governance and regulatory changes. Ensure our data practices remain compliant and effectively support our objectives. 

Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Engineering, IT, Computer Sciences, Statistics) 
  • At least 5 years of experience in data governance or data management. Financial Services: Experience in financial services would be a plus. 
  • Hands-On Experience with Collibra: Proven experience of 2 year in effectively implementing, managing, and configuring Collibra, including working with its workflows, data dictionaries, business glossaries, and data quality. 
     

Technical Skills

 

  • Technical Mastery: Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, methodologies, and standards (e.g., DCAM, DAMA, BCBS 239).  
  • Proficiency in SQL, data management tools and Python or R a plus.

  • Analytical Thinker: Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. 
  • Team-Oriented: A collaborative mindset balanced with the ability to work independently. 

Languages Skills

 

  • English 
  • French, German, Dutch (an advantage)
