We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced IT System Security Engineer with a strong background in IT Infrastructure Security to join our team. 

 

The successful candidate will work as part of the ITS Group Function in the IT Network and Security Operations Department of Quintet Luxembourg. 

 

As an IT System Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our organization’s information systems. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust security measures that protect our infrastructure from cyber threats. Key Accountabilities

 

Security Infrastructure Design, Implementation and Maintenance: 

 

  • Design, configure, and deploy security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), access controls, and encryption mechanisms. 
  • Ensure security measures align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. 
  • Ensure the availability and the performance of security platforms are aligned with business and ITS requirements (SLAs) 
  • Assure maintenance of security platforms and manage associated budget 
  • Participate in IT and Business projects 

 

Threat Monitoring and Incident Response: 

 

  • Monitor network traffic, system logs, and security alerts to detect and respond to potential security incidents. 
  • Investigate security breaches, analyse security events, and coordinate incident response efforts in collaboration with SOC and CSIRT. 
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans. 

 

Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing: 

 

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify weaknesses in systems and applications. 
  • Provide recommendations for remediation and risk mitigation. 
  • Stay informed about emerging threats and vulnerabilities. 

 

Security Policy Development and Compliance: 

 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, review, and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures. 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR). 

 

Endpoint Security and Patch Management: 

 

  • Secure operating systems, servers, and endpoints. 
  • Implement security configurations, patch management processes, and endpoint protection solutions. 
  • Mitigate vulnerabilities and protect against malware and ransomware. 

 

Security Awareness and Training: 

 

  • Educate employees on security best practices. 
  • Assist on security awareness training sessions. 

Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in IT Security System Engineering roles, with a deep understanding of IT Security principles 
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience working in a financial institution or other highly regulated sector is an advantage 
  • Experience in project management and process improvement methodologies is a plus. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Technical Skills

 

 

  • Strong knowledge of Next Generation Firewalls (VPN, IPS, Anti-malware, Sandbox, URL Filtering, etc.), Load Balancers 
  • Knowledge of Mail & Web gateways, IPAM, DNS & DHCP solutions, Remote Access solutions, SWG and SASE 
  • Knowledge of IaaS, EDR, SIEM technologies 
  • Proficient use of MS Office and Reporting tools  
  • Any Security certification like CISSP or CASP+ will be a plus

Languages Skills

 

  • Fluent in English and French
